IMEA Heads to Nashville; Date/Location Announced for 4th Annual IMEA Awards
The International Music and Entertainment Association (IMEA) announced today that the 4th Annual IMEA Awards will take place in Nashville at Middle Tennessee State University’s Tucker Theatre on Saturday, October 8, 2016.
The Tucker Theatre is located on the campus of Middle Tennessee State University at 1301 E Main Street, Murfreesboro, Tennessee, 37130. The Tucker Theatre is a 957-seat theatre that is home to MTSU’s Department of Theatre and Dance.
Each year, the International Music and Entertainment Association honors the best in independent music and community theatre, internationally. Awards are presented in multiple categories. Music awards are presented in over 20+ different music genres in such categories as; Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Band/Group of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, etc. Theatre awards are presented in two separate divisions, Play and Musical, and in 19 different production and performance categories, including; Leading Actor, Leading Actress, Featured Actor, Featured Actress, Outstanding Direction, Scenic Design, Sound Design, etc.
The annual awards ceremony features 10-15 musical performances from nominees, special guests, and theatre ensembles from across the world. In the past, nominees from 40+ states and 10+ foreign countries have attended in anticipation.
“We are very excited to bring our award show to the Nashville area. We’ve conducted an extensive search for the perfect venue based on several factors. We are so looking forward to bringing this event to the Tucker Theatre,” said IMEA President, Colt Chambers.
The first two IMEA Awards were held at the Paramount Arts Center in Ashland, Kentucky, with the most recent held at the Marietta Performing Arts Center in Metro-Atlanta.
Submissions for the 4th Annual IMEA Awards are accepted until July 15th. To be nominated, an individual or organization must be a member of the International Music and Entertainment Association.
A panel of industry professionals will review all submissions and determine the Official Nominees. Official Nominees will be announced in early August.
On the night of the event, red carpet arrivals will begin at 5:00PM and the awards ceremony will begin promptly at 7:00PM. Ticketing information for the 2016 IMEA Awards will be available soon at www.IMEAAwards.com.
